Tips and Recipes for Daily Green Smoothies
Hi lovelies,
If you’ve seen my recent post here, you will know I’m on my one-green-smoothie-a-day phase right now. Due to my recent schedule, it’s a little harder for me to cook for most of my meals, and eating out means less greens 😟. There aren’t many eateries that offer enough greens in their dishes so a green smoothie a day is how I make up for the lack of greens lately. I’ve been enjoying them and thought I’ll make this my healthy daily habit, be it I eat out or not.
Now, let’s get into some crucial things to know when it comes to creating your own green smoothie recipes.
How do you make a green smoothie?
Easy! I create all my green smoothie recipes with this simple combination: 2-3 Handfuls of Greens, ½ of a whole fruit, 1 Tbsp Nut Butter, and 1 Cup Water
What are the benefits of drinking green smoothies?
There are so many! Smoothies are great for your health due to the amount of vitamins it contains. Ok let’s think about it. You can fit in about 500 (or more!) of veggies and fruits in one serving of smoothie. That’s a full size salad! With green smoothies everyday, you bet your skin will be glowing in no time.
What ingredients are in a green smoothie?
You can put in any whole ingredient (try to limit anything refined or processed) that you like. I’ll recommend keeping fruit or any form of sugars to minimum amount to ensure it doesn’t cause blood sugar spikes. Load up on greens, add a little fruit to sweeten, and healthy fat to make it a well-balanced smoothie.
When’s the best time to have a green smoothie?
Anytime, really. I love having green smoothies in the morning as my pre-breakfast. Smoothies do not have to substitute your meals, they make a great supplement to your meals (can be your healthy snack 😉), for that added vitamins.
